Bodewes Shipyards
Solid reputation
The Netherlands are of old renown for building ships and trading the oceans of the world. Bodewes Shipyards BV is a leading modern shipyard group situated along the Winschoterdiep. Since the foundation in 1812 (almost 200 years ago), their activities have focused on the designing and building of ships and the contact with clients based on the principles of quality, reliability and flexibility.
Experience, motivated employees, expertise and inventiveness are the qualities, which have made Bodewes Shipyards BV a successful shipyard that has supplied hundreds of ships for various purposes. Ships from Bodewes Shipyards can be found anywhere in the world where stringent demands are made on quality and performance. Our flexibility makes it possible to survive the difficult times the Dutch shipbuilding is experiencing.
Next to building ships in Hoogezand, Bodewes started with the preparations to build hulls at a shipyard in Romania at the end of the 90’s. Three years later the first hull arrived at the yard in Hoogezand where she was outfitted into the high quality vessel Bodewes is known for. Nowadays hulls are being built in the Ukraine and Poland as well as Romania. The hulls are outfitted at the yard in Hoogezand.
Looking to the future
The future looks promising for Bodewes Shipyards. Not only will the series of 3400, 4400 and 7800 DWAT continue to be built, anything between 800 and 20.000 tons is possible. Multi purpose general cargo/container vessels, RoRo ships and tankers are among the wide range of possibilities.
In an era that is characterised by increasing limitations in the world of shipbuilding, Bodewes Shipyards continues to expand.
The sky is the limit for the traders of the oceans.
