NEVAT | the network for the Dutch subcontracting industry
The Nederlandse Vereniging Algemene Toelevering (NEVAT) (Dutch Association of Subcontracting Industries) is the most important network for industrial subcontractors in the Netherlands. As a branch organisation with about 280 members, Nevat is the spokesman for the Dutch subcontracting industry, a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience and an indispensable source of knowledge for suppliers and outsourcers at home and abroad.
NEVAT accommodates a wide range of specialist companies in the metalworking, plastic and electronic manufacturing industries. It represents almost all production techniques and technologies and covers both suppliers of simple parts and also companies that develop and produce customised high-quality modules and systems.
Active in a wide area
Within the wide area of supply and outsourcing there are distinct subdivisions. NEVAT recognises this and has set up groups for specific sectors and platforms. Members with a common market, the same production processes or chain position can thus be effectively grouped. At present NEVAT has seven independent sectors.
There is a group for suppliers to the automobile industry (Holland Automotive), one for suppliers of sheet metal work (GPI), moulds, stamping and prototypes (PMT) and a platform for system and module and submodule suppliers (Platform System Suppliers). Another sector, Dutch Heavy Engineering, unites the Dutch suppliers of machining techniques for processing heavy or large parts (GVN).
The Engineering & Technical Product Development sector (ETPO) combines the forces of the independent engineering companies. Finally, there is the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) group, which specialises in the production of electronic parts. This group includes printed circuit board assemblers and manufacturers.
Ambassador for the Dutch subcontracting industry
Within its field, NEVAT is the negotiating partner for many organisations such as authorities in Den Haag (The Hague) and Brussel, employer's organisations such as Vereniging FME-CWM (FME-CWM Association) and the Metaalunie,(metal working employers association) beursorganisaties, (trade fairs organisations) the press and the media, Chambers of Commerce, professional associations such as NEVI and agencies such as Senter and Syntens. NEVAT is part of Orgalime, the European umbrella organisation for organisations in the metal and electronics industries and makes an active contribution to Dutch and European industrial policies.
Platform for continuing improvement
Modern subcontractors work objectively and demand that from their branch organisation. NEVAT is familiar with its companies and works in a similar way. business-like, pragmatically and efficiently. This is evident from the joint projects carried out with its members. Recently NEVAT has organised activities concerning: making purchasing by subcontractors more professional, benchmarking, recall problems in the Automotive sector, value analysis, reducing costs, market advice and strategic studies of the future for subcontracting and outsourcing. Visits are also arranged to well known knowledge institutions both at home and abroad.
