Mission
The mission of the Netherlands Agency for Aerospace Programmes (NIVR) is to foster scientific, industrial and service activities in the fields of aircraft development, air transport and space programmes in the Netherlands in an international context.

Objective
The objective of NIVR is stimulation of scientific, industrial and service-providing activities in the Netherlands in the area of aircraft development, air transport and space in an international context. The foundation intends to meet these objectives by:

Providing – strategic – recommendations
Implementing studies (having them implemented)
Appointing panels and commissions
Providing orders, financial resources and information in the area of aircraft development, the use of aircraft and aeronautics
Implementing relevant subsidy arrangements commissioned by governmental bodies
The NIVR has three important functions: as policy consultant, intermediary and executor of government policy in aeronautics. NIVR activities are partly funded by income obtained from projects and partly from resources made available by the ministry of Economic Affairs. Funds are also made available for a number of projects by the ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Watermanagement.
