NOVEM - Netherlands Agency for Energy and Environment
Novem is a government agency under the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and focuses on encouraging the sustainable development of energy and the environment. Novem's national and international programmes are complementary to each other and in support of national and international policies.
At national level Novem carries out programmes for various Dutch ministries, including the Ministry of Economic Affairs; Spatial Planning, Housing and the Environment; Transport, Public Works and Water Management; and Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
At an international level, Novem coordinates and implements a wide range of programmes and projects for organisations such as the European Union, other national governments and the International Energy Agency.
Novem contributes to many international and European sustainable energy and environmental projects. Experience gained within national programmes is often also applicable to international situations. Novem therefore plays an important role on the international energy and environmental scene, and is thus an ideal partner for national, European or international bodies seeking implementation professionals for their programmes.
Since 1 May 2004 Novem has been merged with another Dutch government agency to becomeSenterNovem. These two agencies cluster the best of both worlds and complement each other's specialised subjects and programme approach. Novem has offices in Sittard and Utrecht, while Senter is based in The Hague and Zwolle.
