Ploeger - Partner in logistics
Our company history: more than 60 years' experience in logistics
For the birth of the Ploeger Group we have to go back to 1938, when Willem Ploeger bought his first lorry for transporting milk. His company developed into a versatile enterprise offering nationwide transport services. In 1960, Ploeger welcomed the aluminium manufacturer Reynolds to its list of clients. This was one of the factors that moved the growth of the company into a higher gear. And so in 1967 Ploeger embarked on cross-border transport. The move from Barneveld to Harderwijk had become necessary to give the expanding Ploeger room for further growth. The family company opened its first warehouse and vehicle yard in 1978. A little over 10 years later saw the completion of the current building on Daltonstraat. The themes that were to dominate the 1990s were quality and takeovers. Ploeger was awarded its first ISO-9002 certificate in 1993. The first takeover took place in 1994, when Transportbedrijf J. van Houten joined the Group. The years that followed saw the takeover of Korpershoek Expeditie BV (1995), Tjarks Transport (1996), Hooijen Transport (1996) and Constant Heeren (1996). The takeovers helped make it possible for the Ploeger Group - 60 years after its foundation - to fulfil the promise of complete logistics services in daily practice.
Our mission: To be a reliable partner in logistics
The Ploeger Group consists of four companies that work together efficiently on the central mission: reliable partnership in complete logistics services. We translate this in practice into actual partnership with clients and a total service package.
