Silca Traffic Systems

SILCA Traffic Systems b.v. is a member of the SILCA Group b.v. This company has activities in mobile traffic systems. Because of increasing traffic flows, it is necessary to manage the traffic well during road works and traffic jams. With regards to incidents as well as events, there is a growing need for information systems.

SILCA has developed several solutions for these different applications. Beneath Message Trailers, Arrow Trailers, Pre warning Trailers etcetera, SILCA produces also Attenuators, Mobile Traffic Lane Signalling Systems and Mobile Traffic Information Systems.

Nominated for the Intertraffic Innovation Award 2004, the new developed Heavy Action Trailer will set a new standard for lane closures. This heavy matrix arrow trailer is standard equiped with an attenuator and can be uncoupled within the roadwork–area. Optionally, an automatic safety strip layer will be available.

The revolutionairy SILCA COMBI is a special matrix arrow trailer, which simultaneously transports two self–driving pre–warning trailers. In case of incidents, just one trailer is needed to set up a complete lane closure in a very short time, facilitating optimal traffic flow management.

Another innovation is the SILCA Auto DRIP. This is a mobile variable message sign for use on pick–up trucks. Once deployed, the display is set up high above the flashing lights. This system is easily operated from the cabin.

Nearly all systems are operated by remote control, maintenance friendly, secured against theft and approved by the government for road traffic use. Normally speaking, nearly all systems will in operation for a longer period and therefore they are equipped with a diesel aggregat for the powersupply needed.
