Founded in 1919, the shipyard has build up a solid reputation. Since the mid nineties, the organization has developed from a one-location shipyard to a powerful and expanding shipbuilding group with locations in the northern Netherlands and strong ties with Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and China. The expansion has been generated by means of a strong focus on efficiency.

Volharding Shipyards consists of shipbuilding facilities at Foxhol, Eemshaven and Harlingen. Modern repair facilities are located at Harlingen. Volharding Shipyards employs some 300 people, 50 of whom work in design, engineering and project management.

Between 12 and 20 vessels are delivered yearly with an average turnover of 200 million Euros. Despite the very strong international competitive environment, Volharding Shipyards is expecting further growth in the coming years.
