Western Electric is part of the Lindeteves-Jacoberg Group, together with German motor manufacturer Schorch and the UK's Brook Crompton.
We are a world-leading manufacturer of electric motors, with outputs from a few watts to several hundred kilowatts. Our products offer excellent value for money, being designed and manufactured to meet the most arduous service conditions. They are used in every industrial activity and are sold chiefly to OEMs - notably manufacturers of fans, pumps and compressors, mechanical handling and process machinery.
We have state of the art manufacturing facilities and our network of sales offices and distributors in over thirty countries provides responsive service and support.
Quality
Our manufacturing processes have achieved ISO 9001 and CSA accreditation. Every Western electric motor is thoroughly tested for performance and safety.
We carry out a process of continuous improvement and implement the most up-to-date and effective manufacturing methods. Six Sigma techniques are used to reduce variation in products and processes. Lean Enterprise techniques are being implemented to streamline and further improve our business.
Our design and manufacturing capabilities are accredited by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.
History
Western Electric was founded in Perth, Western Australia in 1968. The sole business being to design and manufacture special purpose ac and dc electric motors.
In 1980, the Company commenced production of Ex d motors.
In 1992, a Joint Venture was formed with a Singaporean firm and Western Electric began marketing in the South East Asia region.
Western Electric was acquired by Lindeteves-Jacoberg in 1995.
